BIOGRAPHY

Angelo Signore is a highly regarded musician, well known for his versatility and musicality in nearly all music styles - Jazz, Blues, Pop, Country, Latin, Rock, Funk, Gospel, Musical etc...... are part of his broad musical spectrum

Born in 1963, Angelo Signore was already attracted to music  as a child. He started to play accordeon, when he was 10 years old. Inspired by his uncle, a classically educated piano player, Angelo began  learning a lot about music and new methods of approaching music. A few years  later,  he picked up the  piano.

From 1988- 1989 he studied  at the Dick Grove School of Music in Los Angeles and received his piano/keyboard degree upon graduating in 1989. In addition to his studies he was playing  gigs and studio sessions with the Wayne Johnson Quartett, Pinky Lou Winter  and others. He also attended master classes with Terry Trotter, Henry Mancini, Russel Ferrante, T.Lavitz, Ernie Watts, Lou Levy, Dick Grove.

He has performed and toured with a variety of artists such as: Journeys, Phil Collins, Gil Scott Heron, John Lord & Ian Paice(Deep Purple), Othella Dallas, Bill Ramsey, Toni Vescoli, Jeff Turner, John Brack, Rolf Raggenbass, Nubia, Tanja Dankner,  Carmen Fenk, I Quattro, Keiser Twins, Francine Jordi, Maja & Carlo Brunner, Doris Ackermann, Mark Storage, Vic Vergeat, Krüger Brother,  Lis Assia, Simon Estes, Sandee, Justina Lee Brown, Frank Tender, Heinz Affolter's Acoustic Adventure, Wise Men Quartett, Todd Murray, Jimmy & the Rackets, Larissa Baumann, Fabienne Louves, Sandra Studer etc......

He has served as Musical Director, arranger, composer for various shows and musicals, freelance musician & studio/recording musician in a wide variety of projects (see History).

With Justina Lee Brown he won the Swiss Blues Challenge in 2019, made it to the semi-finals of the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, USA in 2020, and won second place for Switzerland at the European Blues Challenge in Malmö, Sweden in 2022.

Examination expert for the SAMP (Swiss Academy for Music and Pedagogy), lecturer at the MSUG and MZO music schools.

Angelo Signore ist ein angesehener Musiker, bekannt für seine Vielseitigkeit und Musikalität in verschiedenen Musikstilen - Jazz, Blues, Pop, Country, Latin, Rock, Funk, Gospel, Musicals etc... sind Teil seines breiten Spektrums.

1963 geboren, bereits als Kind von der Musik fasziniert, begann er mit 10 Jahren  Accordeon  zu spielen. Den ausschlaggebenden Kick erhielt Angelo Signore  durch seinen Onkel (ein klassisch ausgebildeter Pianist). Dieser öffnete Ihm den Zugang  zur Musik mit neuen musikalischen Betrachtungsweisen.  Einige Jahre später wechselte Angelo Signore zu den Tasteninstrumenten.

 

1988-1989 besuchte er die Dick Grove School of Music in Los Angeles und schloss dort das Berufsstudium mit Diplom ab. Nebenher konnte Angelo bereits Auftritte und Studiojobs verbuchen(Wayne Johnson Quartett, Pinky Lou Winter u.a.) und besuchte Master Classes bei Terry Trotter, Henry Mancini, Russel Ferrante, T.Lavitz,  Ernie Watts, Lou Levy, Dick Grove.

Diverse Auftritte und Tourneen im In-und Ausland mit Journeys,   Gil Scott Heron, Phil Collins, John Lord & Ian Paice(Deep Purple),  Othella Dallas, Bill Ramsey, Toni Vescoli, Jeff Turner, John Brack, Rolf Raggenbass, Nubia, Tanja Dankner,  Carmen Fenk, I Quattro, Keiser Twins, Francine Jordi, Maja & Carlo Brunner, Doris Ackermann, Mark Storage, Vic Vergeat, Krüger Brother, Lis Assia,    Simon Estes, Sandee, Justina Lee Brown, Frank Tender, Heinz Affolter's Acoustic Adventure, Wise Men Quartett, Todd Murray, Jimmi & the Rackets, Larissa Baumann, Fabienne Louves, Sandra Studer etc......

Musikalischer Leiter, Arranger und Komponist von verschiedenen Shows und Musicals..... sowie Freelance Musiker/Studiomusiker in diversen Projekten(siehe History).

Mit Justina Lee Brown gewann er 2019 die Swiss Blues Challenge, schaffte es 2020 bis ins Halbfinale der International Blues Challenge in Memphis, USA, und gewann 2022 den zweiten Platz für die Schweiz an der European Blues Challenge in Malmö, Schweden.

Prüfungsexperte für den SAMP (Schweizer Akademie für Musik und Pädagogik), Dozent an den Musikschulen  MSUG und MZO.
